oriental dish with fans and glaze.

Greeting Peter,

I have obtained a dish with fans and raised enamel and am curious about the mark on the plate..any ideas? I believe e it to be Japanese

are you familiar with the mark.

I don't know if that is a mark in that place. Could just be decorative. The character means "brocade".
Usually marks would be on the bottom with plates.

Hi Robert,

Yes, this looks indeed as if it were Japanese. The shape itself is not traditional Chinese either.
