We have a very old plate, not really sure but it looks chinese and has symbols on the back. If anyone could maybe give me some info about it then that would be great.

Hello Suzanne,
The plate has a spurious Ming mark, but the plates decoration indicates that it ís either Japanese or newly made in China.
I would rather guess for Japanese. Cranes are a favorite of Japanese art.
