Need Help Identifying Statue

by Amy
(Vermont, USA)

Hi,
I hope someone can help me. I purchased this statue at an auction and I am trying to identify it and not having much luck. I know it is either Chinese or Japanese but don't know which one. I would also like to know what era it was made in and would also love to know the deity. I hope my photo of the makers mark is legible.

Thank you.

Hello,
This seems to depict the God of Longevity.
Made in the early republican period.
The mark says 'Made by Mao Ji Sheng', which is one of the signature names used by the porcelain artist Zhu Mao-Sheng.

Hope this helps.
