I know nothing about these items other than that I inherited them from a well to do relative. Our local consignment store told me I'd be crazy to sell them there, as they look to be worth something more that decorative value?

I have a bunch of stuff, but will start with two dog / candle holders and a small horse statue - all have chinese markings on the bottom, pics attached. Thanks for any information as to identity/value anyone can give.

And if I want to sell them to someone who will appreciate them, what is a good forum for that? Ebay?

Hi, these are not antiques despite the old looking bottom. Actually, the bottom is frequently made to look that way in order to make items appear old. The mark is a spurious 18th century mark, but period marks did not look that way. It was added for decoration only.

All in all, this is hardly more than a few decades old and has only decorative value. Your consignment store apparently has no idea of Chinese antiques. The colors are all too bright.
