Ming Dynasty?

by Rob Gerritsen
(Amsterdam, The Netherlands)

Dear All,

I'm new in the field of Chinese Porselain. I purchased a ginger jar from problaby the Ming Dynasty. I'm very curious if I'm right. Is there anybody who can help me to identify this piece? I'm really curious, so thank you very much in advance.

Regards,

Ming Style 19e century
by: rob gerritsen

I saw a similar jar on the internet as a beautifully rustic Chinese provincial country glazed white ware ginger jar, 19th century. Appealing naturalistic country style used for storage of preserved ginger root. Simple faint blue lines handpainted about the wonderful bulblike shape.

and another similar jar with the description Chinese Export "Vanilla Glaze" pottery vase (without lid).

What expert can help me out? I'm really curious what it is and how you came to that conclusion. Thanks a lot in advance.
