Maker mark is a 2

by Randy
(Penhook Virginia)

My mother has inherited a set of china that is gold trimmed with small purple re ad pink flowers on the edge. It also has sun like pattern in the middle that is also gold. I can only find the mark of the number 2 on the back of some pieces. Any ideas

I'm afraid a number is more likely western porcelain, nothing Far Eastern.
