Little crackled bowl

by Ron

Very light (4.25 ounces) almost eggshell. Can see light though it. I don't think it's porcelain or if it is, a very early porcelain. About five inches across.

It seems to me to be too deep for a lid on a cosmetic box...too big also. What attracted to me to this item was it being so thin and still having survived. I don't know how old it is, but it is not recent. It was sold to me as Ding bodiless but I thought bodiless first came from Ming. It has a patched hole about as big around as an average index finger. The glaze itself isn't very crackly. When you hold it up to the light, most of the crackles appear to be in the clay body itself. It came from Singapore.

The origin of this is difficult to tell due to its shape. Looks indeed like porcelain but it hasn't any specific traits that allow identification.
