Late Qing dynasty ginger jar?

by Trey

I have what I was told is a late Qing dynasty ginger jar that someone later converted into a lamp. I was wondering your thoughts on it and how the value might have been affected by the conversion into a lamp if it is indeed a ginger jar as I was told. There are no markings on it except on the sockets which read Leviton patented 250W 250V. Also, do you know if it would affect the value if I put an updated plug on it to make it useable? I would very much appreciate any info at all that you could give me about this piece.

To verify if it late Qing, it would be necessary to see closeup pictures of the people, especially the faces, and the neck of the jar, where the lamp is mounted. If that white glazed neck is original, then it is unlikely an authentic antique. This is not a standard Chinese ginger jar neck. If the jar can be unmounted, a picture of the bottom might also help.

If the jar is authentic it would be Guangxu period. Not of a very high value, and if a hole was drilled in the bottom for electric wires, then its value would be fairly low, probably.
