Large Brown Jug or Jar

This piece is a very large round shaped jar. It was purchased from China in the mid 80's. It is very large, around 22 inches tall and 17 inches diameter. The color is a very beautiful brownish yellowish very shiny glaze. O

Hi, the shape and glaze of this jar are utterly unfamiliar.
Either it is from a non-mainstream Chinese kiln or, more likely, it is Japanese or Korean. My best guess would be for one of the latter.
It would even be possible that it was made in one of the South East Asian kilns. The jar looks entirely atypical for Chinese ceramics.
