Jiaqing brush rest
by: John

Hi Peter, Thanks once again for your rapid response. I know my pictures are not the best, but the colour of porcelaine is green or the slightest of slight like a turquoise. IHere is an e-mail off Carter Simmons fine art New York. What is your opinion on their appraisal please, any comment would be gratefully received. Many thanks, John.

Hi John,

Thank you for your email.

The bowl has little value, but the small scroll form brush rest is worth around
$100 -150 and we would be happy to sell it for you.

Please let me know if you have any questions or if you would like to proceed.

Thank you,

Carter Brady

These pictures are not detailed and clear enough to evaluate age signs, but this porcelain decoration of a landscape is in the New Fencai style of the 20th century. The color underneath is blue? It should be more green than blue if it were 19th century. I'm afraid this could be a more recent item with an apocryphal Jiaqing mark. My personal view...

Regarding value, please see "Value of Antiques" in the right menu.
