I have a couple of such items and they are not really rare, nor are the artiistically of high quality.

Hello,
This type of plate is usually attributed to the early Ming or late Yuan dynasty, so it is very old. Click "Chronology" to see the dates of these dynasties.
It shows the Qilin, a mythical Chinese animal.
