Japanese vase
by: peter

Hello,
This is a Japanese vase. Can't help you much with Japanese porcelain.
The symbols at the bottom are not characters proper. The smearing could indicate that they were added later, if they are on top of the glaze?
I would search for old Japanese styles. There can't be that many as there was only a limited number of kilns existing in old Japan. With a Google image search you might be able to find similar items.
