Ginger jar

by Kathy Clark
(Hartselle, Alabama)

Hello,

I think this is a ginger jar with the lid missing. It is really well done. Any info you can give on it would be great. There is no mark that I can see.

Thank You

Hi Kathy,
I can only tell you two things.
One is that your jar definetly looks antique to me and, the other is that the decoration is Japanese.

As I cannot help with Japanese porcelain, I would suggest you try to find a forum for Japanese ceramics.
(The only I can say is that there are people on asianart com and gotheborg com who have have better knowledge of asian ceramics.)
There must be others, but those are the only ones I know. Hope this helps.

Good luck.
