Following up on yesterday's post...I'm adding photos taken in natural light. Perhaps that will help in determining whether it is authentic Chinese Imari and whether it is an unusual version of it. Thanks.

Imari
by: peter

It is indeed Imari. This is one of the border
cases, however. In my view this could be either
Chinese or Japanese.
Maybe there is someone who is more specialized on Imari or Japanese porcelain who can help?

The chrysanthemum is used in Chinese porcelain decorations also, but generally it is more popular in Japanese culture. The dominance the chrysanthemum has in this decoration gives the impression as if it could be Japanese.
