faux bois brush pot

Hi Peter,

What do you think of this brush pot? It is 8.5 inches wide. The bottom unglazed part is very smooth. I suspect I am not fortunate enough to be able to come across an authentic one from the actual period. But I am happy with it being a good reproduction nevertheless.

The pictures are much too small. You could upload pictures to Photobucket and post the link here.

Basically, this can be genuine if the age signs are right. Antique material imitations in porcelain are quite rare, however.
I have never seen a quality faux bois item in person, only in the pictures of books. Would love to see details like bottom, partial view of wood and top rim/inside. The wood grain seems to be executed better than those I have seen pictures of.
