famille rose plate
by: peter

Hi Cecelia,
This famille rose plate was likely made in the 20th century, but I'm not sure when exactly . My guess is second quarter or later because of the type of mark it has. The bottom could be republican period.
The auspicious character in the roundels seems to be the character for 'long life'.

The famille rose pattern has many variations, and this is the first time that I have seen one with dominant yellow tones. Nice plate.
