Could you identify my vase

by Andy
(UK)

Hi
I was wondering if you could identify the marks under the base of a vase(urn)I recently bought at a antiques fair. I was told it was Chinese famile Rose and had some age to it. I have searched the internet attempting to find the same marks, but I have had no luck.
However I was lucky enough to come have come across your site and would really appreciate any information you could give me.
Thanks
Andy

Hello,
A picture of the bottom is usually needed for age evaluation. However, from these pictures it can be said that this is unlikely old enough to be antique. The mark is a Tongzhi reign mark, but it is printed (not hand-drawn or stamped) and in a character style that was not used on period marks.
The decoration looks as if it were 20th century, but with only this picture it is difficult to estimate if it could be vintage. Judging by the decoration the vase is likely second half of the 20th century at the most.
