Chinese vase

We are wondering if you can give us some idea about the possible value of this porcelain vase which has been in our family for at least 60 years. Attached are several pictures. As you will note, the only mark is a stamp on the underside which says "China". Thank you . Minda and Ron Garr

Mid-20th Century Vase

By the look of things, your vase was probably new at the time it was purchased. It appears to be circa 1950.

questions
by: Minda

Is there any way to know if this vase is an original, if it is man or machine made, and how old it is? Is it from the pre or post Communist era? Two identical vases were brought back from China as a gift about 60 years ago.

provenance
by: Minda

Do you have any idea about its provenance? Would it be machine made or hand made?

Without closeup pictures it is impossible to tell for sure, but from the current pictures it looks hand painted. It is probably from about the first quarter of the 20th century.
