chinese vase mark

by Deb
(Florida USA)

While visiting China in 1980 my father in law bought me this vase. I would love to know what period it was made in and what the mark says.
Any help would be much appreciated.

Fangge vase?
by: peter

Hi Deb,
The pictures are a bit small too see details. You could upload a partial close-up picture of the vase body or check this yourself.
If the vase body is all covered with fine crackles then it is right. In this case it is a Fangge vase, late Qing dynasty (Guangxu reign is likely).
The colors and brown etching looks all right, the mark is a spurious Chenghua mark which most of these vases have.
