brush stand
by: peter

Hello,
This is a brush stand of the type which in Chinese is called "brush mountain", simply because some of these resemble mountain peaks.
When someone is painting or writing and needs to put the brush down temporarily, the front end is placed on the stand.

I'm afraid that this one is fairly new. Actually, from the image it seems as if the blue decoration was transfer printed not hand-painted.
