chinese plates

by Doreen
(Guildford Surrey)

Hello. I bought these 2 plates in an antique shop in Hong Kong in the 1980s. I doubt they are antiques. Please can anyone help with age and what they are and whether they are worth anything? I don't know anything about them at all. thanks so much.

Hi Doreen,
I do not know much about vintage or more recent Chinese porcelain, but assume this to be second half of 20th century. Possibly a few decades old. It bears a spurious Qianlong period mark, but the painting style is clearly from the 20th century. Judging by the rim decoration it could be rather earlier than later in the second half.
That's all I can tell you about this.
