chinese plate?

Hi, I have this strange but (to me anyway;) beautiful plate an i'm trying to find out what the marks mean. Anyone got an idea?

Hello,
No, this is not Chinese porcelain.
I cannot read all of the mark on the back as the image resolution is insufficient, but the three characters of the right column read "Dainippon" (=Japan). This should clarify the matter as to its origin. :-)
