by Terry
(Melbourne Australia)

I am trying to research this vase which is 18 inches tall, hand painted and heavily gilded. Any information available on the vase and makers mark appreciated. Regards

Hello,
It is probably a modern Japanese vase. I would advise to post it on asianart.com as there are people specialized on Japanese art on their forum.

By the way, one character looks odd. The left one could mean "100" if it were turned upside down, the other means "10" and is sometimes part of Japanese names.
