Chinese or Japanese Mandarins?

by AAC

Mother's Dutch family lived in Sumatra in early 1900's. Have piece I think is very beautiful, but is cracked and damaged so know the value is only to me. Have searched but can't place piece as to what is represents. Is more a plate than a bowl. Appear to be all Mandarins in garden like setting.

Thank you for any help.

Japanese plate

This is Japanese. Many items made in Japan did also have Chinese motifs, but the painting is usually different. Cannot help with age, I'm afraid.
