Chinese Lunar Calendar Brass Dish

by Elizabeth
(Cheyenne, WY, USA)

This is an older brass dish, unmarked, with the Chinese Lunar Calendar symbols encircling the outside, and 5 horses in the middle.

Would anyone know what the 5 horses represent, if anything?

Since I posted my query, I've found out, that specifically, the symbols are the Twelve Earthly Branches.

Still curious about the 5 horses, though, although they might be just additional decoration.
