chinese influence on this near east bowl.

by mona
(beirut)

Hi peter,
I wonder whether this old bowl (I have been told from the near east area 12th A.D.)has a chinese flair to it. It is amazing to think about the silk road the traders had to travel on camels and horses to carry the merchandise from China to Europe and all the exchange in design, glaze, knowledge etc...Thank you for your comment on it.
Best regards.Mona

Hi Mona,
I cannot detect any Chinese elements in this bowl. This does not mean it is impossible that it is Chinese, but I feel it is unlikely.
