CHINESE BUTTERFLY YELLOW VASE

by Sal Kahil
(Vancouver BC Canada)

A unique small Chinese vase with yellow ground and butterflies.

6.5" high
3.5" diameter

I got it from a Chinese exchange student or professor, at SFU University (Simon Fraser University, BC Canada) who can hardly speak English.

I was wondering if it is from "Shen De Tang Zhi - early to mid 20th century. Guangxu period (1875 - 1908)

Would you please help me to find out the period, maker or origin of this vase.

Sal, mid 20th century or later probably, judging from the butterflies and vase shape. The butterflies can probably not be Guangxu or early republic.
The mark is a "Shende Tang Zhi" mark, which was the mark used on items of the Daoguang emperor. As always with such items, this is an approximate age only.
