Chinese Bowl & Seal

by tim

Seal on Bottom of the Bowl

Any Idea on what this Seal Means? Or possible age?
This was handed down from my parents and the bowl was owned by my grandparents. Other than that, I don't know much about it.

Peter,
Thank you. I was able to find out it is japanese and not chinese and it is imari. I have no idea of the age though, so I guess I will have to go get it appraised. Thank you for your time.

Hello,
If this is older than fifty years, then it is more likely Japanese, if it is "younger" it is a modern Chinese item imitating Japanese decorations.
Overall appearance, plus the mark, give the impression that it is Japanese (they used to copy Chinese marks). Could be a type of Imari, but not sure...
