Can you point me in the right direction?

Dear Peter,
I could use some help from you in regards to this vase. Japanese...Chinese, or ? It is 12 inches tall and 6 inches wide.

This is a vase with the "ball decoration". This is its Chinese name, not sure what it is called in English.
While the decoration type itself has been in existence for more than 200 years, the colors used indicate that it is 20th century. Third or fourth quarter, I would think.
