2 Lidded Jars Chinese or Japanese? Markings Help

by Meryl
(Tampa, FL)

Hi, I have these two lidded jars with the same images painted on the sides and lids. And the same markings on the bottom. I would appreciate any help in identifying their origin and what the markings indicate.
Thank you

Ginger jars with lids
by: peter

Hi Meryl,
In my view these jars were made in the 20th century. Whether earlier or later would require additional closeup pictures, but it probably is rather second half, that is after 1950, judging from these pictures.
The bottom looks pretty new, the painting style and colors used indicate that the jars were made in the 20th century, and there is a spurious Qianlong reign mark. Typical period Qianlong marks were not written in this style. Assumedly, the mark was added only for decorative purposes.
